Philanthropy - Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Stand with Alpha Chi Omega to change the conversation, change our culture, and prevent power-based personal violence.

Every week, Alpha Chi sends 3 sisters to the Mary Parrish Center, a local domestic violence shelter. Our sisters watch the children at the shelter, allowing their mothers to participate in group therapy.

In the past, the members created the "These Hands Don't Hurt" and "Love is..." social media challenges to raise awareness on Vanderbilt's campus.

Every year, Alpha Chi at Vanderbilt hosts Harvest for Healing, a philanthropic event which informs attendees about domestic violence and includes various games and food. This event raises awareness for domestic violence as well as funds for women's shelters while engaging students across campus.

If you or a loved one are dealing with domestic violence, please call 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)  or visit the National Domestic  Violence Hotline.
